What’s inside

Four ways in. One account.

Practise the exam, read the notes behind it, and learn the anatomy on a model you can turn in your hands, wherever you happen to be studying.

Anato: Med · Question bank

Vignettes that read like the real exam.

Clinical stems in NBME style, a lead-in that asks what the exam asks, and five options that make you commit.

  • Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 3. Pick the exam you are sitting.
  • Study mode or timed blocks. Learn as you go, or rehearse test day.
  • Lab values one tap away, without leaving the question.
  • Flag, then review your mistakes with an explanation for every question.
A USMLE question in the Anato app: a timed block with a clinical vignette, five answer options, a question navigator and buttons for flag and lab values.
The block toolbar, enlarged: time left 29:57, Flag, Lab values, End block, and the question navigator.

Anato: Med · Your track record

See what you got wrong. Fix it next.

Every answer is tracked by topic, so you review exactly what you missed instead of starting over.

  • Score and time for every block, with each question marked right or wrong.
  • Review only what you got wrong, or the questions you flagged, with the explanation beside it.
  • Accuracy by topic and by Step, so you can see where to spend the next hour.

Anato: Med · Notes

Notes written to answer the questions.

Not a textbook to wade through: what the exam asks, what you do next, and the trap it sets. Organised by Step and by subject.

  • Key facts highlighted, colour-coded for revision.
  • Tables typed out and algorithms redrawn, not pasted in.
  • Gynaecology and obstetrics first, with more subjects being written.
  • The full notes come with Pro.
Anato: Games — an illustrated lesson path climbing through a landscape, with a muscle mascot pointing at a 3D shoulder.

Anato: Games · 3D anatomy

Learn anatomy the way you learn a game.

Short lessons on a real anatomical model, arranged as a saga for each body system.

A lesson card tracing the common carotid, internal carotid, external carotid and vertebral arteries on the 3D model.
A lesson on arm abduction, showing the deltoid and supraspinatus on the shoulder.

Games: a saga per system

Bones, muscles, arteries, veins and the digestive system, a few cards at a time. Each card highlights the structure it is teaching, then asks you to find it.

The 3D sandbox showing the brain, eyes and the nerves of the body.
The sandbox with serratus anterior selected, tracing its nerve supply from C5–C7 through the brachial plexus to the long thoracic nerve.

Sandbox: the whole body, yours to explore

Switch systems on and off, peel back layers, tap a structure to read about it, and follow its nerve and blood supply.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Anato free?
Yes, you can start for free. The free plan runs on energy: a lesson card costs 1 and a USMLE question costs 5. Pro removes the limit and unlocks the full notes and the full 3D sandbox.
What is in the question bank?
NBME-style clinical vignettes for Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 3. Answer them one at a time in study mode, or sit a timed block. Lab values are one tap away, you can flag questions as you go, and every question comes with an explanation to review afterwards.
How many questions are there?
The bank is growing, and we would rather add questions carefully than pad it. Each one is written in NBME style and checked before it goes live, so we will not quote a number that is out of date by next week.
Is Anato affiliated with the NBME or the USMLE?
No. Anato is independent, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBME, the FSMB or the USMLE programme. We name the exams only to say what the material is for.
Does my progress follow me between phone and web?
Yes. One account works on iPhone, Android and the website, and your progress syncs. A Pro subscription bought on one works on the others.
What does Pro cost, and how do I cancel?
Pro is $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year. To change or cancel, use the store you subscribed through: the App Store, Google Play, or the link in your web receipt. See pricing.
Is the 3D model medically accurate?
It is built on Z-Anatomy, an open 3D atlas (credited on our acknowledgements page), and we keep correcting it. Anato is an educational tool, not medical advice.
